The Division of Neonatology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a neonatal nurse practitioner or neonatal PA to provide patient care at the Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU. The care and management of critically ill infants requiring hospitalization in a level III neonatal intensive care unit. This NNP/PA will cover night and/or day shifts as assigned including weekend coverage. The NNP/PA will act in accordance with Florida Statutes. This is a Faculty position at the level of Instructor with opportunity for promotion.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is based at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in Tampa, FL. TGH is a 1,018-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. It is a private not-for-profit hospital and one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in west central Florida, serving a dozen counties with a population of over 4 million. In addition to being a level one trauma center, it has a level 3 NICU.
The 82-bed Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU is a designated Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center designated by the State of Florida to deliver the highest level of medical care to premature and sick infants, and to women with high-risk pregnancies. USF/TGH Neonatology also participates in the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative, a statewide initiative to improve maternal and infant health outcomes in Florida. Neonatal services include a Neonatal Transport Team, Fetal Care Center, and Whole-Body Cooling. Pediatric subspecialties available for collaborative treatment of neonatal patients including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, ENT, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology, Metabolic Genetics.

Qualified Candidates
Master’s Degree in Nursing
APRN/PA training
Florida License
BLS/AED certification is required and must be maintained.
Any equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience Requirements: 2-5 years; at least 2 years of experience evaluating pediatric patients (2 years’ experience assessing neonates preferred)
