Assistant Program Director, Sports Medicine Fellowship

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Assistant Program Director for our ACGME-accredited Sports Medicine Fellowship.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership: Provide expert patient care in our dedicated Sports Medicine office, leveraging advanced imaging and injection capabilities, and deliver high-acuity emergency care within North Shore University Hospital
Educational Oversight: Develop, implement, and refine curriculum for Sports Medicine Fellows and Emergency Medicine Residents through innovative didactics, hands-on workshops, and direct clinical supervision.
Program Administration: Contribute to program assessment, fellow evaluation, and overall administrative leadership for the fellowship program.
Scholarly Advancement: Actively participate in research initiatives, quality improvement projects, and scholarly activities, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
Mentorship: Serve as a dedicated mentor, guiding fellows and residents in their professional and academic development.
Required Qualifications:
Dual-board certification or board-eligibility in both Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
New York State medical license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as an attending physician in both Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
Demonstrated teaching, mentoring, or supervisory experience in an academic medical setting.
Leadership experience in medical education or program administration.
A track record of research experience and scholarly publications.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaborative relationships with patients, colleagues, and trainees.
About Us:
The Sports Medicine Fellowship: Our ACGME-accredited program trains two fellows per year. The Sports Medicine office is located at the cutting-edge Northwell Orthopedic Institute in Garden City, NY, ensuring close collaboration with orthopedic subspecialists. The office is exceptionally well-resourced with dedicated personnel, radiography, ultrasound machines, DME and comprehensive injection capabilities including platelet-rich plasma.
North Shore University Hospital Emergency Department: As an academic tertiary care center, our ED treats over 75,000 patients annually across 76 beds. We are an ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, an Advanced Emergency Observation Unit, a 24-hour Coronary Intervention Center, and feature a separate Pediatric Unit and 24-hour radiology coverage.
Compensation & Benefits:
