The community you'll be caring for: Lymphedema Occupational Patients
Location Address: 125 Florida Memorial Pkwy, Suite 102, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 The role you'll contribute: The Occupational Therapist in lymphedema conducts occupational therapy evaluations and treatments specific to patients in need of lymphedema care

Determines Occupational Therapy Diagnosis and establishes plan of care, make recommendations for referral if treatment needed outside of scope of Occupational practice. Evaluates, plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy.
Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department
Practices principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence-based practices and serving as a clinical instructor
Regularly participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships. Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community as approved by manager or director
Restores and maintains function, improves mobility, relieves pain, and prevents or limits permanent disabilities.
Engages in promoting evidence-based standards of care and lifelong learning through autonomous and collaborative participation in research, journal club/reviews, teaching/mentoring/CI and/or clinical practice education within a peer group.
Performs evaluations and re-evaluations according to standards and recommended techniques. Establishes, implements, and adapts an individualized treatment plan of care (including appropriate goal setting, treatment activities and frequency). Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved and/or according to standards of practice and payer guidelines.
Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policies and procedures. The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Bachelor's in Occupational Therapy plus five or more years of work experience in Occupational Therapy Required or
Master's in Occupational Therapy Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred:
Prior clinical experience in Occupational Therapy with lymphatic patients and patients with a history of cancer.
