Responsible for managing the operational and financial activities of Atlantic Mobile Health and CentraState Medical Center's Mobile Intensive Care Unit programs. Works collaboratively with medical directors, clinical departments, nursing leaders, management, local EMS agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure: timely patient access to care, operational efficiency, department productivity, fiscal integrity and patient satisfaction. Primary responsibilities include human resources management, daily operational efficiency and effectiveness, and ensuring continuous regulatory and accreditation compliance.
- Develops, implements and manages annual capital/operating and personnel (FTE) budget.
Uses resources effectively and manages expenses to meet financial goals of departments). - Ensures sufficient staffing levels to meet care and/or service needs, which include hiring, retaining, and managing staffing to a changing census.
- Ensures that assigned team members remain in compliance with mandatory certifications, new skill competency verification, respiratory protection standards (i.e. fit testing), and all other requirements to comply with current regulations and accreditation standards and operational goals
- Evaluates staff competency through use of performance reviews. Mentors staff and provides shared decision-making and professional autonomy by providing department input into executive-level decisions, and by keeping staff informed of strategic initiatives, priorities and activities.
- Promotes participative management models.
- Contributes to the strategic planning process, leads day-to-day operations, standards of care or service, and attainment of organizational goals.
- Facilitates collaborative problem solving among interdepartmental disciplines. Advocates for and allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe and compassionate care or service based on current best practice standards.
- Responsible for unit or department performance and compliance with patient safety initiatives, federal, state and other regulatory bodies such as NJ Department of Health Office of Emergency Medical Services, Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, DOPL, CAAS, CAMTS and other department specific accrediting and certifying bodies. Ensures achievement of clinical program goals (as appropriate) and implements action plans to improve performance as needed.
- Effectively uses professional and organizational best practices to ensure the delivery of quality care or service. Participating as a a member of a professional organization appropriate to position and service line. Facilitates and encourages staff participation in professional organizations and professional development.
- Implements and role models company vision, mission, values, and facility initiatives and goals. Monitors and improves patient satisfaction utilizing available service metrics and national benchmarks to develop and implement action plans to achieve desired outcomes i patient engagement goals.
- Models and fosters an environment of professionalism, communication and employee engagement in the department. Responsible for recruitment, retention, and employee engagement. Responsible for creating an effective department culture which ensures an engaged workforce.
- Partners with physicians and all other departments within Atlantic Mobile Health and Atlantic Health System to achieve clinical, operational, and service goals as appropriate.
- Other items to consider including:
- Provide oversight and guidance to the MIH Program Coordinator related to operational efficiency and program effectiveness.
- Responsible for establishing and participating in an Administrator-On- program to provide off-business hour assistance as needed for assigned departments
- In collaboration with Logistics team, ensure constant state of readiness of the MICU fleet and availability of supplies and equipment to support departments)' mission.
- Other duties as assigned
- Current New Jersey Paramedic (MICP) or (MICN) certification
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification
- Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree in related discipline preferred
- Minimum 10 years pre-hospital experience, at least 5 of which are in a supervisory capacity
- Previous experience managing a large team of clinicians
- Valid Driver's License with an unrestricted driving record
- Proven ability to analyze data/create reports
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
