You Will Be Responsible For:
Departmental Leadership
The Manager is responsible for the following:
Provide direct supervision and evaluation of specified team members who are responsible for ensuring that the program provides optimal services to children with special needs and their families.
Collaborate with Director to coordinate all programs, policies and procedures.
Responsible for procurement, retention, and professional development of highly skilled team members that reflect the mission of the program.
Create staff communication plan to ensure all team members are aware of departmental initiatives and policies.
Foster staff development through positive communication of expectations, feedback, coaching, evaluation, and opportunities for attending educational offerings which facilitate a healing and caring environment for patients and their families.
Model outstanding patient and customer service and hold staff accountable for the same.
Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills for optimal success including organizational skills, delegation skills, effective facilitation of meetings and projects, etc.
Demonstrate the initiative to learn and apply new processes and procedures by attending in-services, pertinent continuing education seminars, and reading professional journals and other resources and sharing that information with staff and families.
Demonstrate ability to accommodate constant changes in schedule and environment.
Participate in educational and leadership opportunities to strengthen leadership skills for the benefit of the program.
Continually assess and monitor for safety risks and takes appropriate action when needed.
Maintains current knowledge of therapeutic practice and technology.
Facilitates the identification and acquisition of equipment necessary to the delivery of care and services.
Responsible for developing and maintaining child and staff schedules.
Serve as the initial point of contact for families inquiring about services, provide resources, conduct tours, and review program admission process.
Orient and mentor team members about policies and procedures of the program
Ensure opportunities for continued professional development.
Continually assess ways to integrate facilities and services with Early Learning to maximize the mission and goals of the B.E. Smith Family Center.
Ensure team members have received required trainings as determined by KDHE and AdventHealth. Resource Management
Collaborate with Director to develop annual budget and adhere to budget guidelines.
Collaborate with Director to maximize productivity through development and maintenance of staffing plans appropriate to level of services provided.
Collaborate with staff on individual child and family needs and assist parents in learning about and accessing community resources including financial assistance, insurance/ Medicaid, county and state programs and services, and school district services. Marketing and Communications
Collaborate with director to manage digital communications via email, websites and social media
Adhere to AdventHealth brand standards
Collaborate with the marketing department to promote Britain Development services and disability awareness.
Responsible for developing effective processes for communicating information with children, staff, and families in coordination with the Director.
Strategic Planning and Program Assessment
Participate in the implementation of the strategic plan for program growth
Collaborate with Director to develop departmental goals and outcome measures to support the strategic plan.
Collaborate with Director to monitor and assess customer satisfaction and employee engagement data and develop plans to improve annually.
Job Summary:
The Manager of Britain Development, an early intervention program for children from birth through six years of age with special needs, is responsible for the overall coordination, planning, assessment and implementation of services of Britain Development at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. The Manager will:
In collaboration with the Director, will provide leadership for the implementation of the strategic vision of the program to drive improved customer outcomes.
Create a culture of high quality, compassionate care for staff, children and families and ensure operational excellence on a daily basis.
Qualifications
Required
Professional License in Physical Therapy, or License in Occupational Therapy, or License in Speech Pathology, or License in Education or related field
Bachelors Degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Early Childhood Special Education or related field
3 years clinical experience
HeartSaver or BLS CPR certification
Preferred
Post Graduate Degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Early Childhood Special Education or related field
Administrative or leadership degree, certification or training
Experience in insurance coding and billing
3 years management experience
Professional License in Physical Therapy, or License in Occupational Therapy, or License in Speech Pathology, or License in Education or related field
First Aid Certification
Kansas Department of Health and Environment Program Director Certification
