We are seeking a Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our established Pediatric GI division in Wake County, North Carolina. The WakeMed Pediatric GI program was started in October 2014 and has shown successful steady growth over the past ten years. Our team currently consists of 4 physicians, 2 nurse practitioners, pediatric dietitian, pediatric psychologist, social worker and support staff. We work closely with WakeMed feeding and occupational therapists in our recently developed feeding team. This is a clinical position providing outpatient, inpatient and endoscopic coverage. The division provides comprehensive care for children with GI problems through our outpatient clinic and through consultative support for the WakeMed Children's Hospital NICU, PICU and pediatric inpatient services. Call coverage and clinical responsibilities will be shared with team members.
Some highlights of the program are as follows: • Consultation service – pediatric hospitalist and PICU team admit patients • EMR (EPIC for inpatient and outpatient) • Medical student and resident teaching opportunities with adjunct academic appointments available • Highly efficient endoscopy suite with anesthesia support • After hours and weekend foreign body shared coverage amongst our surgical colleagues • ERCP support available through adult GI colleagues • IBD program with office-based infusion service
The WakeMed Physician is responsible for providing quality clinical care to patients cared for by their division. The Physician may be responsible for providing teaching and supervision to residents, medical students and/or APP's within their division. The Physician is responsible for appropriate coding and corporate compliance and may be responsible for some general administrative responsibilities of the practice. Physician reports directly to the Director of their assigned division and understands and supports the mission values, and management of WakeMed Physician Practices and WakeMed.
