Sonographer Specialty Job Responsibilities:
The Specialty Sonographer administers sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies/procedures to ensure the safety of patients.
Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
Demonstrates safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
Provides clinical services according to specialized ultrasound practice standards and acts as a resource to students, nurses, fellows, and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.
Assists physicians in performing TEE, Fetal Echoes, and AV optimization studies by using departmental protocols to provide optimum results.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
License: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with at least two sonographer specialties (i.e. OB/GYN, Breast, AB).
Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start
Experience: One year of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of Specialized Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
