Assists the VP Patient Services and CNO through assuming administrative responsibilities for the Patient Services areas on the main and off-sites campuses and oversight of nurses throughout the enterprise. Areas include the Children's Home Care Group, Emergency Services, Medical/Surgical Inpatient Units, Neonatal & Special Care Nursery Units/Administration, Nursing Administration, Nursing Education and Research, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Psychiatric Care Unit, Regional Burn Center, Respiratory Care, Surgical Services Unit/Administration, Transport Services, Trauma Services, and School Health Services.
Responsibilities:
Ensures the coordination and integration of standard of care of these services across all sites for quality patient care and sound fiscal operation including the development of the annual operating and capital budgets.
Incorporates the goals and objectives of the Hospital into the daily decision making for all Patient Services areas.
Coordinates and collaborates with nurse leaders in planning and implementing program expansions and growth, including new business ventures, construction, and projects.
Responsible for supporting the development of high quality and innovative clinical information systems that assist clinicians in the delivery of patient care.
Leads the Interdisciplinary Clinical Documentation Committee (ICDC) and co-leads the Interdisciplinary Clinical Technology Council (ICTC) with the CMIO.
Participates as a member of the IT Steering Committee in representing the needs and requirements of the clinical community and serves as an advocate of in promoting its use of information technology in the clinical setting.
Works cooperatively with the Administrative Staff, Medical Staff and department staff members with IT to translate clinician requirements into coordinated specifications for new clinical solutions.
Qualifications: Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice Nursing in the State of Ohio. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's degree required. MSN, MBA, master's in health informatics, or related health care/business area preferred. Minimum five (5) years' experience in Health Care management required. Pediatric experience preferred. Ability to practice good financial management. Experience with nursing informatics is preferred. Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills required. Ability to coordinate specified division services inter and intra hospital. Consultation and guidance skills required guide supervisors, nurse managers, clinicians and other health care providers. Demonstrated effective management and leadership skills required.
