Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center

The Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD) is New Hampshire’s only children’s hospital, based on the DHMC campus in Lebanon and integrated with Dartmouth Health Children’s to deliver advanced, family-centered care for infants, children, and teens. CHaD provides comprehensive inpatient services including a dedicated pediatric inpatient unit with an on-site Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) alongside neonatal intensive care and a wide range of pediatric specialties. Beyond the main campus, CHaD’s network spans 12 locations across New Hampshire and Vermont with 247 providers in 30 specialties, caring for about 95,000 children each year, so families can access expert care close to home.

Join a centralized Nursing Education team aligned with the Chief Nursing Officer and Center for Nursing Excellence to mentor and grow nurses across their careers—through orientation, competency, preceptor excellence, and continuous professional development.
As the Nurse Educator in CHaD, you will:
Lead centralized onboarding, unit orientation, and ongoing competency validation using adult-learning best practices.
Design, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based education (classroom, simulation, and at-the-elbow).
Advance nurses’ critical thinking, clinical reasoning, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Run preceptor development and support the nurse residency program.
Consult on organizational competencies, regulatory requirements, and system initiatives.
Engage with teams via huddles/rounds; track outcomes and improve programs continuously.
What you’ll bring:
MSN required; graduate of an accredited nursing program.
3+ years clinical experience in the identified specialty; 2+ years in education/professional development preferred.
Specialty certification or ability to obtain within 18 months.
Strong informatics, written, and verbal communication skills; simulation experience a plus.
Licensure/Certifications:
Registered Nurse (NH or eligibility).
Current BLS or ACLS.
