Founded in 2013, the School of Medicine at UCR is the sixth University of California Medical School. We serve the rapidly growing Inland Southern California region by training a much-needed physician workforce and catalyzing innovations in research, education, and healthcare delivery. Our mission is to improve the health of the community in the Inland Empire, one of the most ethnically diverse and medically underserved areas of the country. UCR is a world-class research university with an exceptionally diverse undergraduate student body. Its mission is explicitly linked to meeting the clinical needs of the Inland Empire and recruiting and training fellows, residents, and medical students from the IE. A commitment to this mission is a requirement. Advancements and promotions at the UCR occur through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.
The successful applicant must qualify for an academic appointment in a Health Sciences Clinical series at the Associate or Full Professor rank. The successful candidate must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree, possess Board Certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine (Cardiology Specialty), and have three or more years of clinical, leadership and/or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited cardiology fellowship program(s). The successful candidate will be expected to show strong communication skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. Additional qualifications include the demonstration of outstanding academic accomplishments for Associate and Full Professor rank, including innovative educational program development, excellence in teaching, clinical leadership, and research or scholarly work. The incumbent will have a concurrent academic appointment in the Department of Internal Medicine and is expected to participate in teaching, service, and research, or scholarly activities. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Initial review of applications will begin on August 11, 2025, and applicants will be considered until the position is filled.
