The Family Medicine Program Director oversees and manages the family medicine residency program, ensuring it meets accreditation standards, develops curriculum, recruits and mentors’ residents, and fosters a positive learning environment. They also play a key role in strategic planning, program evaluation, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Implementation: The director develops and implements a curriculum that meets ACGME requirements and ensures residents receive comprehensive training in family medicine.
Resident Recruitment and Selection: They lead the recruitment process, selecting high-caliber residents and ensuring a diverse and inclusive program.
Resident Supervision and Evaluation: The director oversees resident progress, provides mentorship, and conducts regular evaluations to assess competence and identify areas for improvement.
Accreditation and Compliance: Ensuring the program meets all ACGME accreditation standards and maintains compliance with relevant regulations.
Program Evaluation and Improvement: The director conducts regular assessments of the program, identifies areas for improvement, and implements changes to enhance the educational experience.
Financial Management: Overseeing the program's budget and resource allocation.
Faculty Development: Providing support and mentorship to faculty members, ensuring they have the resources and training needed to effectively teach residents.
Strategic Planning: Participating in strategic planning for the program, setting goals and objectives, and working with stakeholders to achieve them.
Community Engagement: Building and maintaining relationships with the community and other healthcare organizations to enhance the program's impact.
Promoting Research and Scholarly Activity: Encouraging residents and faculty to engage in research, quality improvement initiatives, and other scholarly activities.
Requirements
Licensed physician, board-certified in Family Medicine by the ABFM or ABOFM.
Significant clinical experience in family medicine, with minimum three years experience in a residency program.
Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
Experience in curriculum development, program evaluation, and resident supervision.
Knowledge of ACGME accreditation standards.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Practice Details
The faculty member, Family Practice Center Alma, will work closely five faculty and one behaviorist, and will be responsible for providing leadership, supervision, mentorship, education, and administrative oversight of residents and faculty.
