As a Patient Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients are efficiently scheduled for appointments and procedures within our medical facility. Your responsibilities will include scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments as needed, answering patients' questions regarding medical tests and procedures, and providing clear instructions to patients to prepare them for examinations and procedures. You will also be in charge of confirming appointments, receiving incoming calls courteously, and explaining financial requirements to patients, including entering payments into the practice management system. Additionally, you will schedule referral appointments and follow-ups, verify insurance details, inform patients of any uncovered fees, and assist in filing documents and organizing supplies. Success in this role will require you to be helpful, courteous, and attentive when interacting with patients and colleagues, with a focus on building and maintaining good relationships with referring physicians and staff members.
High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare-related certification is a plus
Proven experience in a medical office setting or customer service role
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficiency in using practice management software and MS Office applications
