The Memphis VA Medical Center, Specialty Care Clinic, located in Memphis, TN is seeking a Chief of Cardiology. This leadership opportunity comes with an academic affiliation with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and will oversee the cardiology clinic while teaching and advising medical students, residents, and fellows on various areas of cardiovascular disease. Although this position does not require a fellowship trained Interventional Cardiologist, the incumbent will be expected to be well-rounded and able to consult, guide, and teach aspects of both invasive and non-invasive cardiology procedures.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Perform expected administrative duties and provide comprehensive cardiology services to veterans, along with supervisory oversight to cardiology section.
Assist and administratively responsible to the Service Chief of Specialty Medicine.
Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date schedule that provides appropriate coverage in the Cardiology and Related Procedures Clinics, Catheterization Labs, EP Lab, Interventional Call, and the Inpatient Cardiology/CCU Consult Services.
Clinical practice, supervising and teaching cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students.
Provide consultation on various forms of cardiovascular disease states, both for diagnosis and treatment in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Perform and assist with non-invasive diagnostic procedures including, but not limited to stress tests, Zio-patch, Holter monitor, trans-thoracic or trans-esophageal echocardiograms.
Duties may also include interpreting cardiac catheterization procedures, as well as diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral procedures.
Lead and manage the Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit (CCU) team consisting of Cardiology fellows, Internal Medicine Residents, Medical Students, Pharmacists, and mid-level providers while on the inpatient service.
Give didactic lectures to Cardiology fellows and participate in academic activities such as journal review, grand rounds, conferences, and lectures.
Other duties assigned by the Chief of Specialty Care.

Fellowship: Cardiovascular Disease
Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease
Full and unrestricted license from ANY state
Ability to communicate in spoken and written English fluently to satisfactorily carry out assigned responsibilities.
At least two years of experience
