Schedule: Full-time
Shift : Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Location: 2600 Westhall Lane, Maitland FL 32751 (Travel required to Tampa, Ocala and Davenport as needed)
The role you'll contribute: The Patient Safety Coordinator (PSC) under the direction of the Director of Risk Management is responsible for implementation and coordination of assigned key Patient Safety initiatives and identified risk reduction strategies. The PSC assists and collaborates with the operational and executive leaders and other AdventHealth teams to improve identified patient safety and quality issues that facilitate improvement of patient outcomes in the medical group. The PSC has knowledge of rules and regulations for compliance with the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act. The PSC will identify and report potential adverse and compensatory events to the Director of Risk Management. Participating in outstanding customer service and accepting responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

- Analyzes patient safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Conducts root cause analyses and failure mode effect analyses to understand and address safety issues.
- Collaborates with healthcare teams to design and implement risk reduction strategies.
- Educates staff on best practices and evidence-based protocols for patient safety.
- Monitors compliance with patient safety standards and regulations.
- Reports potential adverse events and compensatory occurrences to relevant authorities.
- Engages in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
- Utilizes data-driven approaches to measure the effectiveness of safety interventions.
- Promotes a culture of safety and high reliability within the organization.
- Provides feedback and recommendations to leadership on patient safety matters.
- Participates in committees and workgroups focused on patient safety and quality improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications :
- Bachelor's Required
- 0 Work Experience Preferred
- Six Sigma (SS) Preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) Preferred
