Location: North Hospital MOB- Riley Multi-Specialty Pediatrics Department
Schedule: Day Shift - No weekends or holidays

Position Summary
This role supports smooth and professional patient flow from arrival to departure. Responsibilities include gathering accurate financial and demographic information to support optimal reimbursement and clinical outcomes. The position also involves scheduling appointments, interviewing patients for medical details, explaining departmental and hospital policies, validating and entering charges, and collecting payments. Additionally, the role includes answering incoming calls and assisting or directing patients and visitors appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate timely and professional patient movement through the facility.
• Collect and verify patient demographic and financial data.
• Schedule appointments and conduct patient interviews to gather medical information.
• Clearly explain charges, policies, and procedures to patients.
• Enter and validate charges in appropriate systems; collect payments as needed.
• Answer phone calls and assist or redirect patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
• Ability to learn and retain medical coding; familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred)
• Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology (preferred)
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) (required)
