Job Description
Exciting Opportunity at Saint Luke's Hospital Plaza as an Inpatient Speech Pathologist PRN!
Join our team in an acute care setting with a high level of acuity, specializing in the evaluation and treatment of adult patients in ICUs and intermediate units. Our focus includes neurological conditions (such as stroke and tumors) and trauma cases (like closed head injuries and gunshot wounds) affecting swallowing, cognition, and speech.
Shift Details:
- 4 shifts per 8-week scheduling block, including 2 weekend shifts.
- Shifts typically run from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
The Work:
- Provide a range of services to clients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and oral-pharyngeal sensorimotor impairments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Conduct evaluations post-impairment, injury, or disease.
- Monitor patient progress, contribute to discharge planning, and supervise treatment provided by students and assistants.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize client care.
- Ensure safety for all individuals involved.
- Document all services accurately and adhere to professional standards.
- Engage in quality initiatives and meet shift requirements.
