We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lactation Consultant to join our dynamic and collaborative team within a growing health system. In this role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support breastfeeding families, contribute to research initiatives, and promote evidence-based best practices that enhance patient care and outcomes. This is a part-time position (24 hours/week or 30 hours/week).
This position plans, develops, coordinates and evaluates lactation programs on both an inpatient and outpatient basis to ensure ongoing promotion and support through increasing awareness and understanding.
Education
Bachelors degree in nursing, dietetics, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience. (Required)
Experience
Minimum two (2) years of experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse or registered dietitian, including experience providing lactation assistance and education to breastfeeding mothers. (Required)
Experience as a lactation consultant in a NICU setting or in the individual’s discipline (RN, RD). Two or more years of experience as a lactation consultant. (Preferred)
Certifications
Current State of Arizona RN license or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (R.D. or R.D.N.) credential recognized by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. (Required)
International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners Certification (IBCLC), OR the ability to obtain within 12 months. (Required)
Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association. (Required)
