The Public Mental Health Partnership at UCLA (PMHP) serves as a California Center of Excellence (COE) under the BH-CONNECT Initiative, providing training, consultation, and evaluations, focused on Assertive and Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (ACT & FACT).
Under the direction of PMHP leadership, you will create dynamic online learning content and systems to support ACT/FACT workforce development, training, coaching, and consultation for providers in California focused on addressing the challenges of adults who are severely impaired by mental health and/or substance use disorders and often experience homelessness or incarceration. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team composed of subject matter experts, mental health clinicians, trainers, programmers, and fidelity reviewers. Responsibilities include the development of mental-health themed training courses and materials informed by strong knowledge of instructional design principles and practices (e.g. ADA compliance, learning theories, interactive training and learning design, online/e-learning design principles, distance learning, instructor-led training, self-paced instruction, and evaluation methods). Duties and tasks will include:
A. Intervention and Training Materials Development
- Develop high quality and timely training course content and products in partnership with subject matter experts, clinical and programming staff, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain the infrastructures (i.e., learning management system) required to support online learning
- Infuse current developments and best practices in the e-learning field to inform course content, training strategies, and instructional design
- Utilize appropriate training content and methods that meet identified instructional strategies to maximize the efforts of training curricula developers
- Organize and curate existing content to improve and streamline efforts
- Structure training material and course content that is appropriate for and accessible to a full range of end-users
- Working closely with the Media core, ensure that content is presented in a fluid and engaging manner when converting live, recorded trainings into an asynchronous format
B. Evaluation
- Support development of evaluation strategies for online content, including formative, summative, and performance-based measures
- Utilize evaluation and user data to inform continuous system improvement and identification of new content
- Prepare reports and dashboards of online system utilization by end-users for communication with key stakeholders.
C. Project Management
- Incorporate results from community- and system-level needs assessments to create dynamic learning systems
- Work with the Training Core to ensure that online content meets qualifications for continuing education (i.e., CEU/CME) approval
- Develop and implement special projects as needed and assigned
- Initiate and perform other e-learning projects as assigned
Pay Range: $68,800.00 - $141,000.00 annually.
