Overview:
The Registration Specialist plays a key role in ensuring smooth patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. This position is responsible for gathering essential financial and demographic information to support accurate records, optimal reimbursement, and strong clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule appointments and interview patients to collect appropriate medical information.

• Explain departmental and hospital charges and policies.

• Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems.

• Collect necessary payments.

• Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

• Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred).

• Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
