Summary

The Supervisory Health Technician (Ophthalmology) functions under the direct management of the Section Chief of Ophthalmology and the Section Chief of Optometry as well as the Chief of Surgery. The Supervisory Health Technician (Ophthalmology) is expected to perform portions of an outpatient ophthalmological examination under the direct supervision of a physician.

Duties

• The duties of this position are but not limited to the following
• Assigns daily assignments for the Optometry and Ophthalmology clinics
• Ensures that equipment in the Eye Clinic is in safe and functional condition
• Supervises referrals for Care in the Community
• Reports to the service chief of Ophthalmology and Optometry
• Ensures that technicians are current in TMS - education and licensure requirements
• Prepares reports as required or requested by the Chiefs of Surgery - Ophthalmology or Optometry
• Maintains interdepartmental relations with other services to accomplish medical center goals
• Coordinates interactions between clinical staff and MSA personnel
• Reports in a joint fashion to both the service chief of Ophthalmology and Optometry Ensures adequate supplies of medicine and materials necessary for patient care Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - To be determined based on clinic needs Telework: Not available Virtual: This is not a virtual position
