This full-time opportunity is in the Microbiology Department of Clinical Pathology Laboratories (CPL) in Austin, Texas. We are seeking an entry-level team member to work on first shift (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) and is available to work weekends.

In This Role, You Will:

• Perform moderate to high-complexity microbiology testing on clinical specimens such as urine, blood, sputum, wounds, and body fluids

• Analyze, review, and report microbiology test results, ensuring timely communication of critical findings

• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment handling biological and chemical hazards

• Recognize and troubleshoot issues or unexpected results, implementing corrective actions effectively

• Identify when corrective action is necessary and implement effective solutions

• Promote safety, compliance, and quality control within the lab

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor degree or higher in a chemical, biological, or medical science

• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills

• A willingness to learn new techniques and technologies, with enthusiasm for continuous professional development

• Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), or equivalent

• Hands-on experience in microbiology

• Clinical laboratory training or experience in moderate to high-complexity testing
