These PA's supplement and provide coverage to the Vascular surgical specialties with daily rounding, admissions, consults, discharges, urgent/emergent unit and ED calls as well as in house provider coverage after hours for the vascular surgery group.

The Surgical Advanced Practice Team at St. Luke's University Health Network:

With the Vascular Surgery department within the Surgical Advanced Practice Department, you will always have support of other surgical PAs, fellows and attendings. With over 50 surgical APs, you will find longevity within the department demonstrating an excellent work environment. There is detailed individualized orientation and training for all aspects of the position. Surgical PAs at the Bethlehem/University Campus have been integral to Surgical Services for over 40 years.

Summary of the position:

The Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) is responsible for providing healthcare services to patients under the supervision of, and/or in collaboration with, the attending physician. These services include, but not limited to, medical evaluation, treatment, counseling, and referrals. Consists of diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic remediation, surgical assistance, and pharmaceutical prescription

The Advanced Practitioner will cover Vascular Surgery service, minimal OR, admissions, floor calls, procedures.

Schedule/call/weekends: Rotating in house schedule with 16 hour night shift (1500-0700) including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

Must be board eligible or board-Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Medical Physician Assistant with current license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania or New Jersey, as determined by the job location.

Although one year experience in a similar setting is preferred, new grads are encouraged to apply!
