As the Float Pharmacy Technician Lead, and under the guidance of the Pharmacy Tech Supervisor, you will build on the core responsibilities of an HLT II while taking on expanded leadership and collaboration opportunities. In this role you will:
Provide site coverage as needed.
Train and mentor staff and instruct nurses in safe hazardous drug handling.
Beyond daily operations, you will help shape the future of the pharmacy program by evaluating services to reduce waste, enhance quality and safety, and driving the Department’s expanding role in patient care.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 0830-1730; Varied Shifts (60 min lunch); this role will require you to float and travel to multiple locations
Hourly Salary Range: $36.67 - $48.39 (Union represented, step-based salary depending on years of experience)
Bargaining Unit: EX - AFSCME
QualificationsWe’re seeking a strong pharmacy technician with:
California Pharmacy Technician License
Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical abbreviations
Knowledge of metric and apothecary units.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical generic and trade names and dosage forms
Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations
Competency in Care Connect, Microsoft Office, LYNX, EPIC/BEACON
Ability to interpret prescriptions, convert units, measure and prepare prescriptions, IV solutions, and IV medication
Proficiency in aseptic technique, handling, preparation, and disposal of hazardous drugs
Ability to conduct critical evaluation of procedures to ensure quality and effect positive change
Ability to train, mentor, and serve as resource for other staff
Ability to conduct site visits to provide training and conduct quality control assessments
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently
Able to demonstrate professional, ethical, constructive, positive conduct
Available transportation to commute between Hem/Onc offices for float coverage
