Summary:
The Director Nurse Residency and Clinical Development will provide leadership and oversight for the ongoing development, implementation, management, and evaluation of the nurse residency and new nurse orientation programs across CHRISTUS Health. The Director will collaborate with other leaders to ensure that new graduate nurses are effectively transitioned into their professional roles as competent, confident, and clinically strong; and experienced nurses new to CHRISTUS Health receive an effective and evidence-based clinical orientation. This role will oversee the ongoing operations of the nurse residency programs across the system and supervise local site coordinators to meet the program?s goals and standards, while also supporting the operations of the new nurse orientation (NNO) process to ensure its alignment with stated goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate to develop and evaluate the nurse residency and new nurse orientation programs across ministries, ensuring alignment with best practices and stated goals.
Develop and implement program curricula, training materials, and evaluation tools.
Continuously assess and refine the program to meet evolving needs and standards.
Provide oversight and direction for the nurse residency program and new nurse orientation.
Collaborate with system and hospital leadership, nursing directors, and educators to align residency and NNO objectives with organizational goals and priorities.
Monitor program performance and outcomes, and drive improvements based on data and feedback.
Partner with Talent Acquisition to promote the Nurse Residency program throughout our ministries.
Foster strong relationships with nursing staff, clinical educators, and other stakeholders to support program success.
Coordinate with various hospital departments to ensure effective integration of new graduates into the clinical setting.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among the residency, NNO programs, and other educational and professional development initiatives.
Provide guidance and support to residency program coordinators, clinical preceptors, and NNO facilitators.
Address any issues or challenges faced by new nurses and work to resolve them promptly.
Implement strategies to ensure new nurses receive appropriate mentorship and support throughout their residency.
Ensure the residency program complies with relevant accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
Implement quality assurance processes to evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
Prepare and present reports on program outcomes, progress, and areas for improvement.
Develop and manage the program budget to ensure the efficient use of resources.
Identify and pursue opportunities for potential funding and grants to support program initiatives in collaboration with system finance leadership.
Oversee the procurement and management of educational materials and resources.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
Master?s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required.
Doctoral degree is preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience is required.
At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or program management role is required.
Experience in managing residency or training programs preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
RN License in the state of employment or compact required.
In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
