Indiana University Health Physicians has an exciting new opportunity to be a part of Indiana University Health Medical Group OBGYN-North. We are seeking to add an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife-Team Lead to our collaborative care team. Our practice thrives on the collaboration between our skilled healthcare professionals, including physicians and advanced practice providers, who work together to deliver comprehensive and personalized care.
Position Details:
Rotating schedule- Sample weekday 1 Inpatient care (postpartum rounding, triage, labor management of low-risk OB patients) Day 2-off post shift. Day 3-IU North Ambulatory clinic. Day 4-Outreach Clinic. Day 5- IU North Ambulatory Clinic.
Inpatient call once every 6 days
40% Inpatient
60% Outpatient
Procedures include, but not limited to:
Vaginal delivery
Episiotomy with repair
Repair of 1st & 2nd degree lacerations
FSE/IUPC
LARC placement/ removal
Assist MD in cesarean sections
Gyn procedures such as endometrial biopsy and pap smears
Onboarding- 3-day general orientation. The schedule is customized based on experience and will include both inpatient and outpatient orientation.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Lead Certified Nurse Midwife. Will provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care across inpatient and ambulatory settings.
10% protected time for administrative duties including but not limited to clinical leadership team oversight, coordination, and acting as a liaison between the midwife team and leadership/physicians.
Managing antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and well-woman care
Diagnosing and coordinating all aspects of the birthing process
Delivering ambulatory gynecological services.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-year CNM experience
Must be a Certified Nurse Midwife
Previous work experience within a health system delivering both ambulatory and inpatient care
Must have excellent critical thinking skills and be a team player. Must have strong knowledge base of both OB management and Gyn care.
Must have strong leadership skills
