The Research Lab Manager will partner with the Principle Investigator (PI) to establish a newly opened lab rooted in biomarker discovery/validation and risk modeling in both pre-clinical models and clinical trials, with a particular focus on cancer predisposition syndromes. The Research Lab Manager will assist with day to day management as well as generate independent lines of scientific inquiry

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Lab Operations and Management: Oversee daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring that workflows are efficient, organized, and compliant with institutional policies. Order, track, and maintain inventory of lab supplies, reagents and equipment. Ensure maintenance and calibration of key lab instruments and coordinate with vendors for servicing. Manage laboratory safety compliance, including chemical inventory, biosafety protocols, and training records.
2. Research and Experimental Support: Assist in the development and implementation of new experimental protocols. Design, execute and troubleshoot molecular biology, cell culture, mouse studies, and/or proteomic/genomic experiments in collaboration with the principal investigator (PI). Prepare samples for next generation sequencing, ddPCR, flow cytometry, etc. Help with maintenance of mouse colony. Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and sample inventories.
3. Sample and Data Management: Assist with or delegate tasks of receiving, cataloging, and tracking clinical or preclinical biospecimens (e.g., blood, tissue, cfDNA) in accordance with IRB-approved protocols. Maintain sample/data tracking databases.
4. Regulatory and Administrative duties: Ensure compliance with IACUC, IRB, and biosafety regulations relevant to ongoing studies. Assist in maintaining and updating laboratory protocols and safety documents. Assist with onboarding of new personnel and documentation for grant reports or audits.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of 2 years related experience; 5 years preferred
