Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Priess lab is hiring a Research Technician I or II. The project is studying mechanisms of age-dependent tissue deterioration using the model C. elegans.

Responsibilities

• The work primarily involves the generation and analysis of transgenic C. elegans through CRISPR gene editing
• Culture/media preparation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Research Technician I:

• Bachelor's degree in related scientific field
• Demonstrated scientific knowledge and laboratory skils in the area of study

Research Technician II:

• Bachelor's degree in related scientific field
• 2 years of experience working in a lab outside of school coursework

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONs:

Research Technician I:

• Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or microbiology with at least one year postgraduate research experience, or undergraduate senior thesis.
• Demonstrated expertise with plasmid construction/cloning and standard molecular techniques outside of school coursework

Research Technician II:

• Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or microbiology
• Demonstrated expertise with plasmid construction/cloning and standard molecular techniques outside of school coursework

Research Tech I: The hourly pay range for this position is from $22.87 to $32.56 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Research Tech II: The hourly pay range for this position is from $26.48 to $37.70 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
