Key Responsibilities:
Perform a range of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, including but not limited to complex extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, TMJ surgical and non-surgical treatment, facial pain management, benign pathology treatment, and pre-prosthetic surgery.
Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of advanced digital systems in patient care.
Collaborate closely with staff dentists and specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Provide oversight and mentorship to two OMS residents from Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University.
Participate in the education and training of residents and medical students.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with VAMC policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
Completion of an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
Unrestricted dental license to practice in the United States.
