The section of Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine has 54 faculty members (to include Sr., Jr., PhD, Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant faculty) and is a multifaceted program, with on-going interests in asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, cystic fibrosis, sleep medicine, the pediatric airway and medical education.

Children’s Hospital Colorado and the University of Colorado’s Department of Pediatrics are ranked in the top 10 “Best Children’s Hospitals” and “Best Pediatric Programs” in Colorado by U.S. News and World Report. The Children’s Hospital in Colorado Springs has a level two pediatric trauma designation with 115 hospital beds (16 PICU, 50 NICU, and 49 medicine/ surgery). Minimum Qualifications: 

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. 

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: 

Minimum Requirements (Assistant Professor)

• MD/DO
• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics
• Three years of Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship
• Must be licensed or able to obtain licensure in the State of Colorado prior to start date

Minimum Requirements (Associate Professor)

• MD/DO
• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics
• Three years of Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship
• Must be licensed or able to obtain licensure in the State of Colorado prior to start date
• 5 years’ experience as a pediatric pulmonologist 

Condition of Employment:

• Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
• Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

• Board certified or board eligible in Sleep Medicine
• Prescriptive Authority
• Experience and proficiency with electronic medical health record systems
