Shriners Children’s is looking for a full-time Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team at Shriners Children’s Northern California. Successful candidates will be board certified/eligible and have successfully completed a fellowship in both pediatric orthopedic surgery and spinal surgery. As a tertiary and quaternary referral center for domestic and international patients with complex Pediatric Spine Deformity, the candidate should have experience and interest in the treatment of Congenital Deformities which require resection or osteotomy, severe and delayed treatment of idiopathic deformities. As a current leader in the treatment of Juvenile Idiopathic Deformities that are amenable to growth modulation, some experience in the use of anterior vertebral body tethering is recommended. Finally, as early onset scoliosis patients are frequently referred to SHNC, treatment of EOS patients with EDF casting is a modality frequently deployed as a re VEPTR and MAGEC devices (Juvenile growth modulation). Currently, SHNC case volume averages 175 major Pediatric Deformities per year.
As SHNC has no Emergency Department, call coverage is limited to on call rounding for inpatients and availability for hospitalized inpatients. Academic appointment with the UC Davis affiliate is an option with a small clinical footprint available through the UC Davis Department of Orthopedics.
The pay range for this position is $508,948-$771,855. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school

Must have completed relevant fellowship training in pediatric orthopedics AND spinal surgery
Must be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) or in final year of ACGME accredited program leading to certification and eligible for or in possession of Subspecialty Certification (SC) if appropriate
Must possess or be eligible for California state medical license
