Conducts abbreviated behavioral health evaluations to determine most appropriate level of care treatment for both adult and pediatric patients.
- Conduct clinical assessment, including "return to school" clearances, with clear and concise documentation around presenting problem and clinical recommendations for adult and pediatric patients in need of behavioral health services.
- Maintains accurate and up to date patient documentation records according to policy.
- Collaborates with other mental health professionals, family members, work/school administration and/or other pertinent collaborators in order to coordinate care.
- Conduct short-term therapy, when necessary, to help bridge patient to ongoing care, if necessary.
- Provide support, information, advocacy and guidance through the system and linkage to outside behavioral health networks as necessary
- Collaborate and engage family; provide education, support, and crisis intervention as needed.
- Manage appropriate transfer to alternate facilities for patients requiring inpatient hospitalization.
- Participate in ongoing profession development activities to stay current on best practice in the field of behavioral health
- Complete all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.
- All other responsibilities as assigned.
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field
- State licensure required (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT) or license-eligible with active supervision.
- Prior experience in crisis intervention or acute behavioral health settings preferred.
- Strong therapeutic, crisis intervention, and clinical documentation skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Bilingual a plus

- Demonstrate considerable expertise in the areas of psychosocial assessment, screens effectively for suicide and violence risk, as well as abuse and neglect; determination of appropriate level of care and/or clinical interventions.
- Ability to multi - task, organize & prioritize workload required.
- Ability to work within a team as well as independently to make complex decision making with high degree of accuracy.
- Able to work in a quick paced environment.
- Maintains clear, timely and accurate clinical notes that meet legal and departmental standards.
- Upholds professional ethical standards, maintains appropriate boundaries and therapeutic relationships.
