The PACS/RIS Administrator manages daily operations and improves work processes in Diagnostic Imaging. They handle applications supporting Diagnostic Imaging operations. This is an onsite position in Round Rock, Texas.
Essential Functions of the Role
Demonstrates basic level knowledge of concepts, standards, procedures and equipment.
Responsible for day-to-day operations and integrity of Imaging based applications & devices including image workflow, equipment and other related activities.
Works closely with Imaging personnel to ensure complete DICOM data capture into PACS. Also ensures network transmission, RIS validation, and exceptions handling in all necessary applications promptly.
Provides system administration support to departmental managers. Generates statistical reports on utilization, compliance, and other metrics.
Performs, as needed, charge capture reconciliation, requesting new procedure codes and ensuring correct charges are applied to accounts.
Implements and conducts user training programs.
Provides technical and problem-resolution support. Offers first-line application support to all end users. Diagnoses system hardware, software, network, and user faults.
Serves as a liaison between users, vendors and IT.
Ensures system efficiency and security.
Provides after-hours, weekend, holiday, and on-call support on a rotational basis to multiple facilities or as needed.
Key Success Factors
Thorough knowledge of the radiology department processes is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
Availability outside normal business hours. Able to take call, if required.
Able to perform tasks autonomously without need for routine oversight.
Able to provide services timely, accurately, and cost-efficiently in compliance with system standards, policies and procedures.
Able to serve as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
Knowledge of EPIC Radiant, Visage PACS, Nuance PowerScribe, TeraRecon, PenRad and other imaging applications.
