UNC Health Cary Ortho is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic orthopedic team. This position will work alongside a hand and upper extremity surgeon. The role will primarily involve clinic-based responsibilities with opportunities for hybrid scheduling.
Schedule & Flexibility:
?Current schedule is 4 days/week, with options for 4 or 5 days/week based on candidate preference
?Hybrid scheduling available, such as 4 days in clinic and 1 day in urgent care
Candidate Background Preferences:
?Recent training or experience in orthopedics is preferred
?Open to new graduates
?Seeking candidates genuinely interested in orthopedics
Call Responsibilities:
?Shared call within the practice
?Nurse Practitioner provides backup call when the physician is on ER call.
?No primary call responsibilities, but option to take primary call can be discussed.
Ideal Candidate:
?Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
?Valid NP Licensure in North Carolina (or the ability to obtain)
?Strong interpersonal and communication skills
?Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
?Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with autonomy

Other information: Education Requirements: ? Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program. Licensure/Certification Requirements: ? Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in the state of North Carolina. ? Board certification if required by the Department. DEA. Professional Experience Requirements: ? No prior experience required. Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: ? Demonstrated clinical competency. ? Effective leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills. ? Ability to work independently and collaboratively. ? Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills. ? Effective interaction to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical setting. ? Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing.
