This Pulmonology Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Respiratory Therapist Specialist (RT) will provide respiratory care encompassing the entire spectrum of therapies and equipment available for the care of patients with cystic fibrosis. The CF RT will also act as a liaison and clinical resource for inpatient care of CF patients. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to performing PFT testing, providing education, coordinating patient access to durable medical equipment (DME), coordinate with inpatient services, attendance at staff meetings and CF quality improvement meetings, participation in research, annual CF conferences, and participation in continuing education.
This position facilitates and administers respiratory care, including routine and complex procedures, using a wide variety of techniques and equipment. Ensures care meets quality standards established by the hospital, department and regulatory agencies and maintains all skills and knowledge sufficient to provide safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate care to all ages of patients from neonate to adolescent. This position also participates in executing quality improvement initiatives.
Education
Successful completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program (Required)
Experience
Minimum of one (1) year of post graduation respiratory care experience. (Required)
Post graduation experience in a hospital environment. (Required)
Certifications
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Required)
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). (Required)
Current State of Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner license. (Required)
American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) membership. (Preferred)
