Project Manager, Government Relations - New Jersey

Exciting Opportunity at MSK. We have an opening for a Project Manager, Government Relations who will play a vital role in advancing MSK's mission by overseeing projects that strengthen MSK's engagement with state and local government stakeholders, with a primary focus on New Jersey. This role requires an understanding of healthcare policy and state legislative processes, as well as the ability to manage relationships with external partners. The Project Manager will monitor state rulemaking and legislative activity to ensure MSK remains informed, proactive, and well-positioned to advance institutional priorities while supporting the broader Government Relations team.

Role Overview

• Serve as the primary project manager for government relations activities impacting MSK in New Jersey, ensuring timely tracking of legislative and budget processes.

• Monitor and analyze healthcare-related rulemaking and policy developments at the state level; identify potential impacts on MSK operations, patients, and research.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans for government relations initiatives, including timelines, deliverables, stakeholders, and resource needs.

• Prepare reports, updates, and presentations for internal stakeholders on legislative activity, regulatory changes, and advocacy initiatives.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategies and objectives across government relations activities.

• Track progress of projects, analyze barriers, and proactively implement solutions to keep initiatives on track.

• Provide guidance, coordination, and support to team members working on cross-state government relations projects.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare policy, government relations, or legislative affairs, ideally with a focus on New Jersey.

• Strong understanding of state legislative and budget processes; knowledge of healthcare issues is strongly preferred.

• Proven ability to manage complex projects, timelines, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex policy issues clearly.
