AdventHealth Tampa, a faith-based not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary-level acute care hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience and neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, womens services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year.

AdventHealth Tampa is home to the renowned AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute, a recognized leader in cardiovascular disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment and leading-edge research caring for Tampa Bays hearts for over 35 years.

Patel Research Institute, also located at AdventHealth Tampa, leads the way in clinical and academic research in the areas of neuroscience, cardiovascular medicine, advanced surgery and more contributing valuable knowledge that leads to tomorrows cures for conditions such as heart failure, cancer and other diseases.

The role you'll contribute:

The Coding Quality Auditor, under the general supervision of the Outpatient Coding Manager, is responsible for the internal coding audit and clinical quality reviews. The Coding Quality Auditor will work in conjunction with the Outpatient Operations Manager to ensure the integrity of coded data, the education and training of the coding staff, as well as being a resource to the entire organization on issues related to coding data. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you'll bring to the team:

Reviews outpatient records for overall coding accuracy retrospectively and concurrently at AdventHealth West Florida Division.

Reviews and addresses all third party/Regulatory Agencies requests for coding changes or quality studies.

Reviews monthly pre-bill accounts for coding accuracy and reporting on the Corporate scorecard.

Codes and abstracts charts in accordance with ICD-10-CM conventions, Coding Guidelines/Clinics, and CPT Assistant, applying coding rules applicable to AdventHealth West Florida Division and requirements of Medicare and payor specifications.

Assist with timely interaction between departments to resolve issues.

Mentor and educate other coders.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

Minimum qualifications :

• High school grad and technical/ vocational school graduation required
• 5 years of work experience required
• 1-2 years of auditing experience preferred
• Must have one of the following certifications:
• Certified Pension Consultant (CPC)
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
